100 MILLION AFFECTED NATIONWIDE

While many Americans were digging out of their last snowstorm, a new winter storm with snow and lots of ice has arrived at the doorsteps of people living in two dozen states affecting 100 million people from Maine to Colorado.

Forecasters are expecting six inches of snow on portions of New York, Ohio, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

Another wave of rain has moved in under the snow belt, affecting parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kentucky, West Virginia, and others.

After shoveling snow for about an hour last night, more than a few residents of the Northeast are regretting ever saying "Let it snow,let it snow... etc.

This new storm is moving in just as folks are still digging out of two recent snowfalls in the Midwest and Northeastern regions of US.

* LOCATIONS...SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT...NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE NEW YORK CITY METROPOLITAN AREA AND PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY.

* HAZARD TYPES...MAINLY SNOW ALONG WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES...ALONG WITH AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES.

* TIMING...SNOW MIXING WITH AND CHANGING TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN LATER WEDNESDAY.

* IMPACTS...SNOW AND ICE ON ROADS WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT FOOD AND WATER WITH YOU.
