12/12/12 CONCERT FOR SANDY

Submitted by Admin on

The star studded concert for a Super-storm with a female name was top heavy with male performers and ran so long that it ended 6 hours later into 12/13/12. The performances were exciting, but dominated by way too many old men performing on stage.

When the Madison Square Garden concert for Sandy relief was over, it was not surprising to see the usual crowd-pleasing acts. The Who, Billy Joel, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney and Alicia Keys? Why not JLO, Bonnie Raitt, Patti Smith, Madonna, Debbie Harry, Lady Gaga or Beyonce? And why all male comedians and no funny females? Where were Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg, Roseanne Barr and Margaret Cho?

The stage was jammed by old white male singers and instrumentalists, all of whom donated their time to the Robin Hood Foundation and deserve our thanks for the $30 million in ticket sales alone, but why weren't the women represented?
