Since 1786 - USPS

Submitted by ub on

Since our local mail carrier, who we call TOCAYO as a term of endearment, decided to go on a well deserved vacation, our mail appears to be arriving late every day.

City Island Images offers this ode to mail carriers everywhere, whose better days are unfortunately numbered, thanks to Internet popularity and free e-mail service.

We pay tribute to the individuals who deliver mail door-to-door, who have been dependable and devoted letter carriers since the 1700. Meanwhile US Postal Service continues their desperate and aggressive steps to cut costs by closing administrative offices, eliminating positions, offering early retirements...etc.
