The Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship is NPF’s signature Washington education program for DC-based journalists. In nine day-long sessions—once a month from September through June—journalists get to know and learn from Washington officials, experts and seasoned journalists. We'll take a closer look at the opportunities and challenges faced by these new companies and how they might differ from those facing traditional news outlets. We'll also hear about the skills that are most in demand for prospective job seekers and the outlook for this segment of the industry. Event: Financial Times & Journalism and Women Symposium (JAWS) – Fellowship

The Financial Times and the Journalism and Women Symposium (JAWS) are pleased to announce a new fellowship for women of diverse backgrounds to attend the JAWS Conference and Mentoring Project (CAMP), an opportunity that will be funded over five years thanks to support from the Financial Times. One fellowship winner each year will receive up to $1,000 to cover the cost of registration, travel and accommodations at the annual CAMP conference. JAWS intends to make this opportunity available to women who are traditionally underrepresented in newsrooms, including women of color, journalists in the LGBTQ community and those with disabilities. This year’s three-day conference is from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at La Quinta near Palm Springs, California. CAMP participants will enjoy a dynamic experience filled with inspiring speakers, motivating career development sessions and rewarding mentoring opportunities.
