The Bronx Chamber of Commerce hosted its 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Leadership Luncheon today, September 18th at The Lighthouse on City Island, The Bronx.

This yearly event marks the chamber’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month to commemorate the contribution of Hispanics to commerce and public sercices in The Bronx.

Honorees included: Hon. Hector Aponte (Bronx Commissioner of NYC Parks Department), Deputy Chief David Colon (NYPD), Felix Matos Rodriguez (President of Hostos Community College), Ray Negron (Author & Advisor to NY Yankees), Hon. Annabel Palma (NYC Councilwoman), Hon. Joe Ramos (Former Assistant & Deputy Commissioner for NYPD & NYC Dep. of Corrections), Judge Jenny Rivera (NYS Court of Appeals), Hon. Peter Rivera (Commissioner of NYS Department of Labor), Lisa Sorin (Director of Westchester Square BID), and Louis Vasquez (Executive Director of RAIN. Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Felix Lopez (Executive Vice President to the NY Yankees), and NYC Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs Carol Robles will be amongst our special guests making presentations. September 18, 2013 also marks Ray Negron’s 40 year anniversary with The New York Yankees. The Bronx bombers mascot was also on hand for the celebration.

They all received Eagles and at least one was overheard saying he was going to fly back to work following the ceremony.
