CITY ISLAND MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

Submitted by Admin on

There are a few ways around City Island to enjoy the annual Memorial Day Parade, as we take time out to remember the men and women who have proudly served our country.

The best way is to walk, or stand along City Island Avenue and enjoy this colorful parade tradition. Another is to watch in online www.cimages.me and this year, Mr. and Mrs. Sparks are inviting City Islanders to their lawn barbeque, across the street from the cemetery.
Their home is located on 367 Reville, right on the corner of King avenue and next door to one of City Island's most famous veterans, who by the way is recovering at the Westchester VA. Mr. Sparks tells City Island Images that their home will be decorated with many American flags.

On Monday May 27, City Islanders will enjoy the annual Memorial Day Parade, which is sponsored by the good folks at Leonard Hawkins Post of the American Legion.

Locals who are planning on marching should meet at Grace Episcopal Church at 1:45 p.m. and the parade will probably start sometime after 2:30pm.
