SPECIAL PROGRAM SciLab at NYPL: Math Gaming -Chess and Tan-grams Go beyond formulas and proofs! See how patterns build your check faster in chess. Create works of art through tessellations, and discover the hidden shapes of the tans with tan-grams. No homework, no grades - find the fun side of math. All materials will be provided. Lectures: Victor Mastro Presents: Heart Throbs of the Bronx Learn all about your favorite celebrities who were born and raised right here in the Bronx. Saturday May 5th at 2:00 PM. This program is in celebration of Annual Bronx Week.

Jeremy MCcue Presents: GETTYSBURG. Of all the conflicts of the Civil War, this battle and Lincoln’s speech will stand out over all the rest. See and hear how GettysbUrg made history and how it comes alive on Saturday May 19th at 2:00 PM. This date is “Armed Forces Day”

FILM OF THE MONTH: HORSE OF WAR Young Albert enlists to serve in World War I after his beloved horse is sold to the cavalry. Albert's hopeful journey takes him out of England and across Europe as the war rages on. (2011 Dreamworks 150 minutes Rated PG-13) Saturday May 12th at 1:00 PM.
