Mondays and Thursdays 11 AM-7P Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11 AM- 6 PM Fridays and Saturdays 10 AM-5 PM

MAY CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Read-a-Loud: The first Friday of every month will have a read-a-loud in the early afternoon. Listen to the librarian’s choices and feel free to bring your family’s favorite to share. Our Read-a-Loud program is slowly transitioning into more of a Toddler Time activity. Friday, May 2nd , 11AM to 11:30.

Mother’s Day Arts & Crafts: We will supply the scissors, glue and construction paper, please bring your own imagination and artistic flair as we make arts and crafts to celebrate Mother’s Day. May 9th all day.

Film For Children: We will be watching a movie during the day for children in our Community Room. May 23rd from 11am-1pm.

MAY TEEN PROGRAMS

After-School Lounge: Students can do their homework and sneak in a snack. Monday through Friday afternoons whenever school is in session from 3:00-5:00 in our Community Room.

MAY ADULT PROGRAMS

SPECIAL EVENT: New York State Senator Jeffrey Klein’s office will be in the library all day to answer your questions and listen to your concerns. Monday May 19th from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M.

100 Years of Bronx History: Professor Mastro returns to celebrate Bronx Week with us, discussing Bronx History. Saturday, May 17th, after the Saturday movie which will be held at 1:00 P.M. Movie title and lecture hour will be announced. Please contact the branch for finalized information.

Introduction to the Internet: This workshop is designed to introduce anyone who has never been on the internet before. Gain proficiency in using e-mail, utilizing social media and finding resources on the NYPL web site. Every Tuesday morning from 10:00 to noon. Also on Monday afternoons from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Grace Church, Pilot Street.

Resumé Writing Workshop and Online Job Search: Staff will be here to help you look for employment and get your resume into top form for the competitive job market. Pre-registration is encouraged but drop ins are fine. It is recommended you bring along a flash drive to save your work. Every Wednesday morning from 10:00 to noon.

Saturday Afternoon Movies or Lecture: Every Saturday that we are open, we will present a movie or a lecture/discussion. Please check our flyers in the library or call for Saturday movies or lecture programs. All Saturday afternoon events begin at 1:00 P.M. May 3rd- REDS May 10th-September Dawn

Tablet Group: Learn how to borrow and download library e-books, discuss your favorite apps and ask questions about how to use tablets in your day-to-day life. Every Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00.

Island Writers: Will be taking the month off. No classes for May.
