Don’t Waste Time Feeling Sorry
Never sit around feeling sorry about circumstances or how others treat you. Instead, take responsibility for a role in life and understand that life isn’t easy or fair.
Don’t Give Away Power
Never allow others to control you, and don’t give someone else power over you. Don’t say things like, “My boss makes me feel bad,” because you are in control over your own emotions and have a choice in how to respond.
Don’t Shy Away from Change
Don’t try to avoid change. Instead, welcome positive change and be willing to be flexible. Understand that change is inevitable and believe in the ability to adapt.
Don’t Waste Energy on What U Can’t Control
You won’t hear a mentally strong person complaining over lost luggage or traffic jams. Instead, focus on what you can control. Recognize that sometimes, the only thing that can controlled is (TEA) Temper, emotion and attitude.
Don’t Worry About Pleasing Others
Recognize that you don’t need to please everyone all the time. They’re not afraid to say no or speak up when necessary. They strive to be kind and fair, but can handle other people being upset if they didn’t make them happy.
Don’t Fear Taking Calculated Risks
Never take reckless or foolish risks, but don’t mind taking calculated risks. Mentally strong people spend time weighing the risks and benefits before making a big decision, so be fully informed of the potential downsides before taking action.
Don’t Dwell on the Past
Don’t waste time dwelling on the past and wishing things could be different. Acknowledge the past and learn from it. Don’t constantly relive bad experiences or fantasize about the glory days. Live for the present and plan for the future.
Don’t Make the Same Mistakes
Accept responsibility for your behavior and learn from past mistakes. As a result, don’t keep repeating those mistakes over and over. Instead, move on and make better decisions in the future.
Don’t Resent Other Successes
Don’t grow jealous or feel cheated when others surpass you. Instead, recognize that success comes with hard work, and keep working hard for the opportunity at success.
Don’t Give Up After Failure
Don’t view failure as a reason to give up. Instead, use failure as an opportunity to grow, evolve and improve. Be willing to keep trying until you get it right.
Don’t Fear Alone Time
Being alone and in silence has its rewards. Do not be afraid to be alone in your thoughts and use downtime to be productive. Enjoy your own company and you will not be dependent on others for companionship and entertainment, so be content when you're alone.
Don’t Feel the World Owes You
Never feel entitled to things in life. You weren’t born with a mentality that others would take care of you or that the world must give you something. Instead, look for opportunities based on your merits.
Don’t Expect Immediate Results
Whether you're working on improving your health or developing a new project, don’t expect immediate results. Instead, apply your skills and time to the best of your ability and remember that lasting change takes time.
