Focal Point Gallery * 40th Anniversary

Submitted by Admin on

40 years after opening his art gallery and photo studio on City Island, Ron Terner continues to host his Friday receptions and open houses for local artists. Terner says he's planning a special celebration later on this year.

Mr.Terner owns and operates Focal Point Gallery and is a multifaceted artist, as well as an exceptionally kind individual. His work has been featured in major photography magazines and is in the private and permanent collections of museums, individuals and corporations.

Turner's gallery was jammed packed with artists and locals on Friday night. Bronx artist Ariel Jourdain took these photos and shared them with City Island Images. Ariel was just one of a dozen artists showing his works last night. Arieljourdain.com

This was the first exhibition of 2014. The Gallery got a facelift with the help of City Island artist Laury Hopkins, who painted and cleaned Focal Point.

The Gallery was founded in 1974 and serves as an alternative exhibition space for exceptional but little-known artists unable to gain recognition elsewhere. It mounts at least eight exhibitions a year. Techniques and subject matter embraced by the artists runs the gamut and includes landscapes, pinhole computer images and photographic wall sculpture.
