Pond Walk: FPBP fundraiser was a success: They will build an accessible path with viewing platform at a small pond within the Playground for All Children at Pelham Bay Park.
The group raised approximately $11,000 through an auction, raffles, ticket sales and special donations from Millie Pinott and Eric Salmeron of Betz Mitchell Associates; National Golf Corporation; Bronx Kiwanis Club; and James McQuade of Schuyler Hill Funeral Homes. Councilman Jimmy Vacca pledged $35,000 in capital grant funds.

Trail Work: The volunteers cleared invasive shrubs on 3/34 as part of an ongoing project to restore the Meadow at Orchard Beach. The 45th Precinct Youth Explorers and Wild Metro added extra enthusiasm to the effort.
The next Trail Day is Saturday, 4/7, from 10am - 2pm.
The group will meet at the NE (far left side) of the Orchard Beach parking lot. They will work at the pine grove at Hunter Island instead of repairing the footbridge as planned due to anticipated high tides. On Saturday, 4/28, they will participate in Million Trees Day and plant trees at Pelham Bay Park.
