Too many corporations think about marketing to the 55 million strong Latino Market during Hispanic Heritage month or try on Cinco de Mayo.

However, these companies have put their money where their mouth is for Latino market. We'd like to call them our top "Three Amigos" aka The Three Caballeros 1944
AT&T “Between Two Worlds”
AT&T’s #BetweenTwoWorlds is the Hispanic movement in their expansive social media campaign #TheMobileMovement, which launched earlier this year. The company began the Hispanic operation in July 2014 as an opportunity to connect and engage bicultural Latinos, particularly digital-savvy millennials.
#BetweenTwoWorlds focuses on the lives of young acculturated Hispanics between their teens and mid-30s, who easily identify with both mainstream U.S. culture and their Latino background. Accompanying the #TheMobileMovement is a Tumblr page similarly featuring Spanglish posts. The two hashtags can also be found on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Dunkin Donuts “Dunkin' Latino”
As of June 2014, Dunkin’ Donuts launched its Latino Twitter page, looking to cater to the company’s Spanish speakers. Last year, Dunkin’ Donuts also claimed to be the first national coffee retailer to make its website, mobile, and Facebook platforms available in Spanish and English.
With the social media campaign launch, there was a brief sweepstakes. Fans could follow @DunkinLatino and use the hashtag #MiDunkinEsTuDunkin to enter a chance to win a $100 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card for themselves and a friend. The brand is now supporting their digital Hispanic movement with hashtags such as #MiDunkin and #DunkinLatino.

McDonald’s “Me Encanta”
Back in 2011, McDonald’s introduced its Spanish-language Twitter campaign. @MeEncanta is a Spanglish-based account used to interact with fans about promotional deals through music, sports and education.
McDonald’s Latino movement is currently engaging its online audience with its hashtag #MiMomento. The hashtag, however, has not seemed to catch on yet with many of the posts coming from unrelated tweets.

Empathy vs Ego

Issue

We all have an ego, but size differ. We got it in primary school when kids were jerks or perhaps earlier if our older siblings, or other family members were jerks first. The ego kept us safe from the emotional slings and arrows. But now that we're grown, it is a wall that separates. It's time for it to come down. By practicing openness instead of defensiveness, forgiveness instead of vengeance, apology instead of blame, vulnerability instead of strength, and grace instead of power.

NO RESPECT

Announcement
Images:

Many cultures and traditions place lots of thrust on paying respect to their senior citizens. In some communities and societies, children are expected to listen, learn and give back to their elders.

However, everyone knows that respect is a two-way street and it has to be earned. According to national polls, Wahington DC lost all respect long ago and may have a long way to go to get back its Mojo.

Respect is a quality seriously lacking in today's society. So, what the hell does it mean when our elected leaders insist on being mean?

Christmas Miracle?

Nazareth is ancient, with the domed Basilica of the Annunciation where the angel Gabriel told Mary she would bear a child. St. Joseph’s Church is said to be the site of Joseph’s carpentry workshop. The underground Synagogue Church is reputedly where Jesus studied and prayed. Nazareth Village, an open-air museum, reconstructs the holy life of Jesus Christ.

Laowai in a strange land

Issue

Laowai means stranger, or an outsider in the Chinese, Mandarin language. The term is usually and generally used to refer to Westerners or whitey, Latinos, Arabs, Africans, or utilized interchangeably to denote all non-Asian foreigners.

As with the Spanish term Gringo, I'm told that being called a Laowai is not an offensive term. So as I travel throughout China, I have come to accept the fact that my round eyes and excess hair is an easy target to attract this label.

Why Does Hate Continue?

Idea

Tolerance, respect, and understanding should be the norm, but acts of hate are reportedly being ignored.

Haters Gonna Hate is a sad and unfortunate catch-phrase which represents another's negative comment. Whatever happened to love thy neighbor as thyself? Do to others as you would have them do to you.

This saying contains great wisdom. It opens our eyes to what life should be about. If we loved, or the very least respected our neighbor as ourselves, there would be peace and prosperity in the world, as opposed to strife and poverty.

We Don't Need No Education?

Issue

According to Chronicle conducted research, Donald J. Trump has discussed higher-education policy sparingly. That tendency has largely continued since his inauguration as President Trump and appears to be shared by Betsy DeVos, his Cabinet member and Secretary of Education. http://www.chronicle.com

October 13, 2016: Mr. Trump gives his most substantive speech on higher education, at a rally in Columbus, Ohio, where he suggests his own income-based repayment plan, and says he will “reconsider” tax-exempt endowments.

Forecasters at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center issued the U.S. Winter Outlook today favoring cooler and wetter weather in Southern Tier states with above-average temperatures most likely in the West and across the Northern Tier. This year’s El Niño, among the strongest on record, is expected to influence weather and climate patterns this winter by impacting the position of the Pacific jet stream.

“A strong El Niño is in place and should exert a strong influence over our weather this winter,” said Mike Halpert, deputy director, NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. “While temperature and precipitation impacts associated with El Niño are favored, El Niño is not the only player. Cold-air outbreaks and snow storms will likely occur at times this winter. However, the frequency, number and intensity of these events cannot be predicted on a seasonal timescale.”

(Credit: NOAA)
Other factors that often play a role in the winter weather include the Arctic Oscillation, which influences the number of arctic air masses that penetrate into the South and nor'easters on the East Coast, and the Madden-Julian Oscillation, which can impact the number of heavy rain storms in the Pacific Northwest.

The 2015 U.S. Winter Outlook (December through February):

Precipitation Outlook:

Wetter-than-average conditions most likely in the Southern Tier of the United States, from central and southern California, across Texas, to Florida, and up the East Coast to southern New England. Above-average precipitation is also favored in southeastern Alaska.

Drier-than-average conditions most likely for Hawaii, central and western Alaska, parts of the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, and for areas near the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley.

Temperature Outlook:

Above-average temperatures are favored across much of the West and the northern half of the contiguous United States. Temperatures are also favored to be above-average in Alaska and much of Hawaii. Below-average temperatures are most likely in the southern Plains and Southeast.

Drought Outlook:

The U.S. Drought Outlook shows some improvement is likely in central and southern California by the end of January, but not drought removal. Additional statewide relief is possible during February and March. Drought removal is likely across large parts of the Southwest, while improvement or removal is also likely in the southern Plains. However, drought is likely to persist in the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, with drought development likely in Hawaii, parts of the northern Plains and in the northern Great Lakes region.

While it is good news that drought improvement is predicted for California, one season of above-average rain and snow is unlikely to remove four years of drought,” said Halpert. “California would need close to twice its normal rainfall to get out of drought and that's unlikely.”

All News Is Good?

Problem

All politicians harbor a desire to get around the so-called media filter and deliver the news directly to the people. But what would such unfiltered news look like? What happens when they make inappropriate comments that solicit negative responses?

The accusations continue and some members of the public say they have not heard a true explanation or a believable response.

Simply calling experienced journalists for long-established news organizations "corporate lobbyists" is not a response to serious allegations.

No Tweets for UN

Idea

After sending Tweets about Rocketman and others, @POTUS has made his first statement as president at the United Nations and returns to the UN this morning for his first address to the 193-members of the world body's general assembly. However, the leaders of China and Russia are not expected there.

While tensions increase with North Korea, with a new terrorist attack in London and renewed efforts to bring peace to the Middle East, Trump will have plenty of topics to choose from for his speech, which is expected to be more than 140 long.
