Saturday, August 13

A presentation exploring the lifestyles and history of the Lenape, the native peoples of the area, will be offered at St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, in Mt. Vernon, on Saturday, August 13, at 1 PM. The event features a visual program, artifacts and discussion about the Lenape, helping to illuminate a major theme in the site’s feature exhibition, “A Clash of Cultures: Anne Hutchinson’s Brief Life near St. Paul’s Church.” Tours of the historic church, tower and burial yard are offered following the Lenape presentation.

Parking and admission are free – refreshments served.

When: Saturday, August 13, 2011; program on the Lenape at 1 PM; site is open from noon to 4 PM

Directions: Hutchinson River Parkway south to Exit 8, Sandford Blvd., and follow directional signs to the site. Hutchinson Parkway north to Exit 7, Boston Road, and follow directional signs for left turn onto the Post Road and right onto Pelham Parkway. Proceed over small drawbridge, and then left onto S. Columbus Ave.; diner is at left.
