A reception will be held at the Museum on Sept 15th at 2P, along with a presentation by City Island resident.Dick Sadler. Captain Sadler the youngest member of the Courageous team who won the America s cup twice.

Dick Sadler is boat captain at NYC Water Taxi and has wonderful and humorous stories about Ted Turner and the team. This show will run through the Fall @ 190 Fordham St. Bronx , NY 10464

From 1869 to 1980 12 meter sailboats from City Island led a 110 year string of 24 successful campaigns to defend the America 's Cup. Ironically in 1983, when City Island no longer had a connection to the defense of the Cup, did the USA suffer it's first loss of the trophy.

This new exhibit, curated by Cheryl Brinker, features works by City Island artists, objects from the Museum's collection, and photographs of these elegant sailboats.

Museum hours: Saturdays and Sundays 1pm to 5pm, and by appointment. Admission is Free.
The Museum is operated by the City Island Historical Society, a not for profit organization.
