NY Officials Urge Community Vigilance

A NY City Councilman, a NY State Senator and several local community leaders gathered in The Bronx today to urge the public to keep an eye out for the continued sale of dangerous synthetic marijuana, which is now against the law.

City Island Images walked around the neighborhood to find if this substance was still being sold. We entered two area businesses and the individuals behind the counter at both places told us that they were no longer selling this chemical pot. However, we then spoke with a young man on the street who assured us this substance was still readily available at his nearby corner stores. While in walking in the same area, near the corner of Lydig and Holland Avenues, we observed undercover police officers at work investigating illicit activities.

Although New York Governor Cuomo banned this substance last week via an executive order, NYC Councilman Jimmy Vacca says he knows that this dangerous product continues to be sold throughout The Bronx.
