NYC Announcements

All NYC East River bridges are open but authorities are asking to please stay off the roads and allow emergency personnel the opportunity to restore essential city services. All MTA bridges except the ones in the Rockaways are now open.

For updates on mass transit services, visit http://www.mta.info/.

NYC public parks will be closed until further notice. Due to call volume, please report down trees or property damage using 311 online at http://www.nyc.gov/apps/311/. Only use 911 for emergencies. For the latest information on New York City government services visit http://www.nyc.gov or NYC OEM’s Severe Weather page at http://on.nyc.gov/y4Y41C.

All NYC parks, playgrounds, beaches, and recreation centers remain closed until further notice due to hazardous conditions. The winds remain strong and the hurricane has compromised many of the trees inside parks and along sidewalks.

To report a tree issue, please call 311 or text 311-692, or submit an online forestry service request. 911 is reserved for emergency calls ONLY.

The Parks Department is hard at work addressing emergency conditions and assessing damage by carefully inspecting all properties. We will determine when it is once again safe for you, your family, and pets to visit.

As you know, this is an extremely serious situation. Once again, for your safety, it is strongly urged you to stay out of the parks, playgrounds, and beaches until further notice.
