NYC Parks Officials' Questionable Activities

Submitted by Admin on

Two NYC Parks Department supervisors have been suspended following allegations of sexual harassment of female subordinates.

Parks Commissioner Veronica White told a City Council hearing the two accused supervisors would be suspended without pay.

Following several attempts for an official comment, NYC Parks issued the following statement to City Island Images.

"We acted swiftly when told of allegations of unacceptable activities at our Five Borough facility. At their request, the two female employees who brought these allegations to light were immediately transferred to locations where they could feel safe and do their work. The two supervisors in question were transferred to other positions, where they are no longer acting in a supervisory capacity, and will be suspended without pay, pending possible other action while the Department of Investigation completes its inquiry. We have emphasized to every employee of the NYC Parks Department that sexual harassment is illegal and will not be tolerated."

Parks department official could not be reached for our additional questions.
