Why will NYPDs top Hispanic official be leaving his top management post. First Deputy Commissioner Rafael Pineiro was reportedly asked to step down, but the question that begs to be answered is why now?

City Island Images asked NYPD Commissioner William J. Bratton to explain.

Commissioner Bratton began his career in 1970 as a policeman in Boston. He has now lead six major US police departments in his distinguished career.

Pineiro, who is a Cuban-American and also lawyer, who rose to the rank of Chief before being promoted to First Deputy Commissioner.

Rafael Pineiro was considered as an NYPD Commissioner candidate when Mayor Bill de Blasio replaced Ray Kelly.

Does anyone happen to know what, or why this happened???
