Seven Killed Near Bronx Zoo

Seven individuals have been killed after a minivan they were riding in lost control on a Bronx River Parkway overpass and ultimately coming to rest inside The Bronx Zoo.

Three of them were children dead in the one-vehicle accident were children. All of the dead were in the minivan.

The noon time accident occurred on the southbound lanes of the Bron River Parkway, just north of East 180th Street. According to officials, the minivan was traveling southbound in the left lane, when apparently a tire was blown, the vehicle lost control and struck the divider.

The minivan then swerved to the right across two southbound traffic lanes, falling over a guardrail and into a wooded area, then landed upside down.
