THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVERNIGHT...WITH THE BEST CHANCE ACROSS NEW YORK CITY...LONG ISLAND AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...AND MOST OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT. WHILE THE MAIN THREAT IS FROM DAMAGING WINDS...THERE IS ALSO A LOW CHANCE OF ISOLATED TORNADOES OVERNIGHT AS WELL.

MINOR COASTAL FLOODING POTENTIAL THOUGH WEDNESDAY... SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD-SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN-SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER-BRONX- NORTHWESTERN SUFFOLK-NORTHERN QUEENS-NORTHERN NASSAU...LOCALIZED MINOR COASTAL FLOODING LATE TONIGHT AND AGAIN LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* LOCATIONS...ALONG COASTAL SOUTHWEST CONNECTICUT AND WESTCHESTER COUNTY.

* TIDAL DEPARTURES...AROUND 1/2 FOOT ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDES.

* TIMING...LOCALIZED MINOR TIDAL FLOODING NEAR THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE LATE THIS EVENING AND LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...WATER LEVELS WILL REACH OR JUST TOUCH MINOR COASTAL FLOOD THRESHOLDS DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. THIS WILL RESULT IN BRIEF AND LOCALIZED INUNDATION OF VULNERABLE ROADS AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES IN LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
