On this Memorial Day, please take a moment to pause and remember the fallen heroes, and those who served, like my late brother Antonio J Soto III.

Also, please say thank you to all current members of our military, as well as US Veterans. Thank them for their great service. We don't know them all. but we owe them all.

If it were not for Memorial Day, we would not have this great nation. It is still the best country on earth, where people of all races, cultures and religions have frown the melting pot into a rich, mixed and unique salad.

About Memorial Day: The official birthplace of Memorial Day is Waterloo NY, which first celebrated on May 5, 1866. Memorial Day initially honored military personnel who died in the Civil War. it was called Decoration Day. Red poppies are a symbol of remembrance, and it's a tradition to wear them to honor those who died fighting for our country during military conflicts.

CITY IMAGES salutes all who have contributed and sacrificed for these United States of America.
