Commemoration of Veterans Day - Friday, November 11, 2011

The site is open 9 AM to 5 PM.

There will be periodic tours throughout the day -- depending on visitors interest and staff availability -- telling the stories of soldiers buried in the historic cemetery, with an emphasis on Civil War veterans, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the conflict.

Scheduled Events:

11 AM Veterans Day commemoration ceremony, in the church.

Noon Performance, and sing-along, in the museum, of songs that American soldiers would have sung and heard, with an emphasis on the Civil War era.

1 PM Presentation in the museum by Professor Mark James Morreale, of Marist College, about the Hudson Valley and the Civil War.

2:30 PM Talk in the museum by Paul Geitler, Westchester Community College, about the origins and history of Veterans Day.

3:30 PM Presentation on New York’s Civil War Battle Flags, by Christopher Morton of the New York State Military Museum.

Free admission and parking
