Experience the serenity, along with the beauty, as well as the peace and quiet of City Island.

This Sunday, City Island Trinity United Methodist Church once again presents Easter Sunday Sunrise Service celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. Services feature worship, as well as messages on the values of faith, hope, and community.

This event, which begins promptly at 6:30am has grown annually by word of mouth for those who enjoy attending each and every year on Easter Sunday. This annual Easter service welcomes all and everyone is just asked to join in the spirit of peace.

Location for the service is Pelham Cemetery, a small, beautiful, peaceful resting place with a relaxing view over the water and decorated with nautical motifs.

Let this serve as fair warning to all those road hogs and dangerous people driving on our New York roads. NY Police officials are targeting speeding and aggressive drivers across the entire state.

The “Speed Week” campaign runs until April 24, 2014. Fines for speeding and aggressive driving can reach nearly $1,000 and add up to 11 points on a driver’s license.

While most record books name Jackie Robinson as breaking the color barrier in baseball in 1947, many forget others who became the first black players.

Cuban star Orestes 'Minnie' Miñoso is certainly one to look up in the history books. His real name is Saturnino Orestes Armas "Minnie" Miñoso Arrieta.

He was a Cuban professional free agent baseball player playing for Cleveland Indians in the late 40's. The Cuban Comet is still alive and working in baseball for Chicago.

Sadness helps appreciate happiness. When our mood eventually changes from sadness to happiness, the sense of contrast adds to the enjoyment of the mood.

There are ways to experience sadness in a healthy way and to allow this emotion to enrich your life:

For Christians everywhere, Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday.

Many celebrate the first joy of the season, Jesus's triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, where he was welcomed by crowds worshiping him and laying down palm leaves before him.

It also marks the beginning of Holy Week, with the greatest tragedy and sorrow of the year.
