With the Dow Jones industrial average falling down the tubes more than 500 points, the stock market has drastically dropped as Wall Street retreats downwards and economic worries smash the nation's lingering employment weakness.

US Stocks plummeted, with the Dow shedding as much as 500 points, amid worries the already sluggish American economy could stumble into another recession and the European debt crisis may soon be spreading.

Erika Roman Foundation Hosts 3rd Annual CELEBRITY Softball Game 8/9/11

The Erika Roman Memorial Foundation, a charitable organization, will host its 3rd Annual Celebrity Softball Game to benefit children of the New York City Foster Care System. The Celebrity Softball Game promises to once again bring out the city’s top names in music, entertainment, and public office. The proceeds raised at the event will help complete the second phase of an Internet radio station within the Children’s Aid Society in the Bronx.

Due to a derailment near the East 116th Station in Manhattan the following disruptions are in effect: northbound 4 and 6 trains are running express from East 42nd St. to East 125th St., the 5 train is running on the 2 track from Nevins St. in Brooklyn to 149th St. and Grand Concourse in the Bronx.
