Researchers have announced that drinking one to three glasses of champagne a week may counteract the memory loss associated with aging, and could help delay the onset of degenerative brain disorders, such as dementia.

Sober scientists at the University of Reading have actually proven that the phenolic compounds found in champagne can improve spatial memory, which is responsible for recording information about one's environment, and storing the information for future navigation.

Following the announced resignation of CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell, this move paves the way for the first woman to take that job.

43 year old Avril Haines is a White House lawyer who has worked in the State Department and Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Although Haines has reportedly never worked in an intelligence post before, her work at the White House has been steeped in intelligence-related matters.

Michael Morell was involved in the drafting of those ill fated White House talking points on Benghazi. He says he is leaving to spend more time with his family.

Various activities are being held in parks throughout the city, including Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Pelham Bay Park at 9 AM. All activities are free for seniors ages 60 and over. As US Congress slowly moves closer and closer to necessary immigration reform, I decided to drive out to Mount Kisco, New York, where my journey as a new resident of The United States of America began. Thankfully, I have since become a proud citizen of USA.

"Boardwalk Empire"

HBO films is on City Island once again for "Boardwalk Empire". There is no parking along portions of the avenue.

Reverend Pastor Ezra Hongchang Yew tells City Island Images the producers are using the 162 year old Trinity Methodist Church for a location shoot. He says the church, which is located on 113 Bay Street and City Island Avenue should be back to normal by weeks end.

NYC FLOODING DANGERS

NYC officials project that nearly 800,000 residents could be living in flood zone that cover a quarter of the city's land by the year 2050. This dire prediction comes about as rising water levels and other effects of global warming occur.

They also say that of 90-degree days in NYC could triple to Birmingham, Alabama temperatures. Finally, approximately 8 percent of the city's coastline could be subject to flooding from high tides.
