World Bee Day

Images

World Bee Day is celebrated every year on May 20 because on this day Anton Janša, the pioneer of beekeeping, was born in 1734.

The purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees as pollinators for the global ecosystem. Consistently on this day, the public should be focused on the significance of saving honey bees.

To learn about the importance of World Bee Day I decided to be with my well-behaved neighbors on City Island, New York.

Potato Heads Up

This is why should rub your car windshield with a potato. How many times have woke up to find a cold frozen car windshield?

My old friend, who I like o call Brother Moon says this not only is delaying the departure to our destination, but it is a nuisance and a hassle.  Our options are to scrape off the ice or deice the windshield with a store-bought or homemade deicer or use a cut piece of potato. https://youtu.be/AErz6zswKxc

Harvest Moon 2021

The Harvest Moon this year in 2021 is spectacular in many ways. Harvest moons are full moons that occur once a year when sister moon is closest to the autumnal equinox, which is the beginning of Autumn or Fall, usually on Sept. 22 or 23. This year's harvest moon arrives tonight September 20 and will appear exactly opposite the sun at 7:54 p.m.

Mark your calendar because if you miss it tonight,  you will have to wait 12 months to see the light of this silvery moon before it returns once again.

Not Easy Being Green

The diversity of life from the level of a gene to the level of the ecosystem is declining precipitously across the entire globe.

Biodiversity refers to all of the species in one region or ecosystem and to every living thing, including plants, bacteria, animals, and humans.

At its simplest, biodiversity is about living nature or life on Earth - different genes, species, and ecologies and, as a consequence, the varying landscapes, regions, and habitats in which they exist via

The Russians reported It uses adenoviruses, essentially cold viruses, as vectors to ferry genetic instructions for the coronavirus-like protein to the body’s cells, causing the immune system to makes antibodies to this protein and thereby conferring protection.

Lunar Eclipse Super Moon

The very first total Lunar eclipse in a couple of years happens to coincide with a #Supermoon tomorrow for a cosmic show.

The definition of a #Supermoon varies, but it's generally defined by how close the moon approaches the Earth. May's supermoon will also be the first total lunar eclipse since January 2019.

This super “Blood” moon will be visible Wednesday across the Pacific offering the best viewing as well as the western half of North America, bottom of South America, and eastern Asia.
