1010 WINS?

It's not likely to win final approval, but while Democrats are pushing to increase the federal minimum wage, this appears to be another bill getting buried in Congress. However, this hot button issue, may bring voters to the polls in November.

US Senator Tom Harkin, D-Iowa has introduced legislation boosting the current $7.25 hourly minimum in three steps until it reaches $10.10 in 2016. His minimum wage bill is widely expected to be voted by the Senate.

Though it should win backing from nearly all of the 53 Democrats and two Democratic-leaning independents, few Republicans are expected to join them, likely leaving them shy of the needed 60 votes to begin debate.

US Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn. may vote to let the Senate consider the bill. This makes him the first GOP member to say this, but he added that he'd oppose the legislation before passage.
