Abolishing the Electoral College is going to be the downfall of the GOP and every MAGA Republican sees it as their worst nightmare.
The real reason is that they know they cannot win on policy because their policies (such as they are) are anti-Democratic and antithetical to the wishes of the American people. If not for the electoral college, the country would've been spared the dolt Dubya and his evil henchman-Cheney-and the traitorous Putin puppet Trump.
The Electoral College was a compromise made by the founding fathers who debated the issue for months. People like James Madison were horrified by the thought that the commoners could elect the President. He and his supporters didn't think the citizens were intelligent enough, or informed enough, to elect the President. They toyed with the idea that the people would elect members of Congress, and they in turn would nominate the President. So after months of vigorous debate, a compromise was made and the Electoral College was born.
The Republicans have been exploiting this archaic school of thought to their benefit, through Gerrymandering, voter suppression, and corrupted members of the federal judiciary. The time has come to give the people the ultimate voice in electing the President by abolishing the arcane Electoral College.
As we speak, the New American Fascist Party, formerly known as the GOP, is hard at work in swing states, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Wisconsin by removing thousands from the voting rolls. They're also attempting to pass legislation that would eliminate private citizens and groups such as Mark Elias' Democracy Watch, from filing suit to stop their voter suppression.
The QOP cannot win elections straight up...they require Russian interference, misinformation, and thievery to gain the power they so desire to destroy Democracy. American apathy toward the political process, and ridiculous perspectives such as "both sides" play into their plans, like Project 2025...it's incumbent upon the American voter to stop the republican runaway train of fascism.
