WILL COMCAST BURY CESAR?

Comcast cable owns NBCUniversal and therefore praises its News Group Chair Cesar Conde with a hefty annual compensation.

Now that Ronna McDaniel is out at NBC News following the backlash, will Cesar Conde be the next head to roll out of 30 Rock? Do they have long contracts? I miss these three former NBC anchors: Norville Brinkley, Chung who I had the pleasure of working with.

I dedicated my career to working in and leading news media startups of various sizes and markets across this country and in a couple of languages. As a veteran journalist who put his safety on the line for about a decade working for the Peacock and later with Univision, Telemundo and AP, I am ashamed of NBC. They brought us Cosby, then Trump, and now this???

A Republican National Committee topper turned NBC politics analyst McDaniel “tried to disassemble our democracy” by supporting Trump’s electoral fraud bug lies and should not be given such a media role.

I’m not going to praise Cesar. Mr. Conde has no journalism chops and now that the NBC News Union and several on-air anchors are up in arms about a decision to hire the former top Republican Party operative even less.

In a social media post, a network union alleged that NBC News “illegally terminated” 13 union journalists two weeks before hiring Ronna McDaniel.

The Guild said that Ronna encouraged the big lie that many journalists have spent countless hours debunking. “Our journalism is tarnished by @NBCNews execs elevating a liar over the workers who have spent years delivering the kind of reporting that our newsrooms are typically known for.”

Quite a few employees at the network, including MSNBC co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Chuck Todd, Rachel Maddow Lawrence O’Donnell,l and others have voiced their disapproval over the bad decision to hire McDaniel on an approximately $300,000-a-year contract.

The deal, which was unanimously supported by top brass, has reportedly been causing internal dismay within the news division after the recent layoffs and other budget cuts.
