JUNE CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Bilingual Birdies: This popular program for children returns every week with more fun and story times than ever. Every Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Father’s Day Arts & Crafts: We will supply the scissors, glue and construction paper, please bring your own imagination and artistic flair as we make arts and crafts to celebrate. Friday, June 13th, all day.

Summer Reading Kick-off: w/ the Bi-Lingual Birdies Band, painting a sign for the new Teen Area and a Super-Smash Bros. Tournament for the City Island Super Smash Championship. Good for teens, tweens and children. Thursday, June 26th at 3:00 p.m.

JUNE TEEN PROGRAMS

After-School Lounge: Students can do their homework and sneak in a snack in our Community Room. Monday through Friday afternoons whenever school is in session from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

JUNE ADULT PROGRAMS

NEW! Meditation and Quiet Time: A space for quiet studying, reading, writing and self-meditation. Every Thursday from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Introduction to the Internet: This workshop is designed to introduce anyone who has never been on the internet before. Gain proficiency in using e-mail, utilizing social media and finding resources on the NYPL web site. Every Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Also on Monday afternoons from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Grace Church, Pilot Street.

Resume Writing Workshop and Online Job Search: Staff will be here to help you look for employment and get your resume into top form for the competitive job market. Pre-registration is encouraged but drop ins are fine. It is recommended you bring along a flash drive to save your work. Every Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Tablet Group: Learn how to borrow and download library e-books, discuss your favorite apps and ask questions about how to use tablets in your day-to-day life. Every Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00.

Saturday Afternoon Movies: Pleasantville (PG-13; 124 min; comedy drama). Saturday June 7th1:00 pm.

Free Estate and Gift Giving Seminar—Presented by Jody Saperstein. Saturday June 14th at 1:00 P.M.

Live Music Performance: Make Music New York: “The Travelling Jewburys”: Saturday June 21st at 1:00 -2:00 pm.

Hart Island Project: Please call for detailed information. Saturday June 21st 2:00-4:00 p.m.

The Erie Canal: Come see historian, Jeremy McCue, give a talk and visual presentation of this major project and how it changed America for the better. Saturday June 28 at 1:00 P.M.
