Arctic air will cause temperatures to drop across the northern Plains, which will bring snow to the Inter-mountain West.

An arctic front is forecast to plunge through the northern Plains and northern Rockies on Saturday bringing a drastic drop in temperatures across these areas with a burst of snow over much of the Inter-mountain Region. Arctic air will also filter into the Pacific Northwest bringing with it snow showers and subfreezing low temperatures.

NYC is forecasting mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. West wind 6 to 10 mph. Saturday Cloudy, with a high near 40. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 6 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

AS AN AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES OVER THE TRI-STATE REGION TONIGHT...SKIES WILL START OUT MOSTLY CLEAR. THE BREEZES WILL START TO SUBSIDE...AND THE TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP PROMPTLY INTO THE LOWER 30S AND QUICKLY INTO THE 20 DEGREE AREA.
