Don't Be Fooled

your-ballot-your-ballot-was-counted

Please... don't be fooled by the lies, false accusations without proof, and outrageous comments. None of this is designed to make America great, but it can be a political smokescreen to take our attention away from important issues that our country faces.

Truth be told, I did not write all of this... These thoughts and ideas come from me and a variety of social media platforms and through shared circles.

Power hungry troubled people and political cronies are abusing great positions of authority, while some spineless members of Congress allow a growing threat to our way of life, and to most of US.

Some of my family, friends, and neighbors say that we should give the new administration a chance, that we should work together.
OK, then...
Let's raise the minimum wage.
Let's not waste money to build a wall.
Let's not slash funding for public education.
Let's not persecute any members of a religion or nationality.
Let's not help the rich use this opportunity to line their pockets.
Let's not privatize Medicare, or cut Social Security and or Medicaid.
Let's offer the same health coverage Congress has to every American.
Let's not forget that many treated the Presidency with disrespect for years.
Let's not sell public lands or roads to companies which then profit from them.
Let's not lower taxes on the 1% and increase taxes on the middle class and poor.
Let's not remove the civil and human rights that generations of Americans died defending.
Let's not forget the legitimacy lies and hatred for his attempts to work within the system.
Let's not deny global warming by weakening and demolishing our environmental protections.
Let's not turn our backs on nations which have been our allies.
Let's not take basic assistance from people who are at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder.
Let's keep common sense regulations on firearms.
Let's support American labor unions.
Let's support scientific research, be it on climate change, fracking, or any other issue.
Let's support the right of women to chose health care.
Let's decrease the number of nuclear weapons.
Let's eliminate "big money" into politics.
Le's support existing agreements and not violate the Geneva Convention.
Let's reject hate groups like Ku Klux Klan, the Nazi Party, and white supremacists.
Let's increase ethical oversight at all levels of government.
Let's support democracy while rejecting tyrants and dictators.
Let's reject racism, sexism, and authoritarianism.
Let's stand for honesty, love, respect for all living beings.
Let's remember that "winning", "being great again" is not when others are sacrificed.

Understand that we can be friends with people who disagree with us. We can have a healthy friendship with someone that shares a different opinion than we do about important topics. Friendship is ultimately about respect, and the highest form of respect is accepting that others might have a different point of view than we do.

Have an intelligent conversation. Share a beer, or a cup of coffee and sort your differences out. Use facts to express our thoughts and explain what experiences we have been through in our life.

Learn from differing opinions. Open up our minds and let ourselves learn through the differences we have with others. Learn more about different cultures, different political views, different religions...etc.

Success isn't measured by the amount of owned properties or by money accumulated and saved. Our national legacy will be defined by all the people we will be able to help.
