As many as 700 are feared dead after a migrant boat sinks off Libya. Twenty eight people were rescued in the incident, which happened just off Libyan waters, south of the southern Italian island of Lampedusa. This could be the deadliest toll ever as a result of a single capsizing.
Italy's ANSA news agency reports that an estimated 700 people were aboard and only 28 were said to be rescued.
