Lately, we've seen first hand how immigration is and will continue to be a hot button issue.
Countries don't usually lose their richest citizens to USA. Most aren't elite when they arrive in this great nation. In my family's case, we lost everything in CUBA; That’s why arrived here legally to re-build and start a new life.
Most past and present immigrants have worked hard and helped to make this the greatest country on earth. This nation needs immigration reform, but we all need to keep in mind that the reason most of all are here is because our families immigrated at one time, or another.
For all those who are here legally, please keep in mind that becoming a US citizen and being able to vote is easier than you may think. Everyone needs to follow the rule of law.
For too long our so called leadership has been ignoring the serious consequences of open borders.
If we really want to call ourselves The United States of America, then we must negotiate with border nations, like Canada and Mexico to solve our continuing and progressively growing problem.
There was a time when strangers were once welcomed here and that is why this is the greatest nation ever. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” ― Emma Lazarus
