IS NEWS ADDICTIVE LIKE SUGAR?

Submitted by ub on

We all know how tempting it can be to have one too many chocolates or an extra slice of cake. But what drives this craving for sweet treats?

Scientists suggest that we are primed to desire these at an instinctive level, as they play a vital role in our lives.
But it does not have to be this way with sugar or with another toxic item called news bits.

Some news can be toxic and has been known to trigger the limbic system. This deregulates and inhibits the release of growth hormones, while our body finds itself in a state of chronic stress. High glucocorticoid levels cause impaired digestion, lack of growth cell, hair, bone, nervousness and susceptibility to infections. The other potential side-effects may include fear, aggression, tunnel-vision and desensitization.
