SEVERE WEATHER WARNING

Submitted by ub on

The National Weather Service has once again issued a severe thunderstorm warning for The Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens.

Flash flood warnings with excessive runoff from heavy rainfall causing flooding of urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.

As you may know, Arthur was upgraded to a Hurricane today and is forecast to move past the North Carolina Outer Banks tonight. Hurricane Watches and Warnings, along with Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings, remain in effect from southeast Virginia to South Carolina.

In addition to coastal flooding, dangerous rip currents will impact much of the East Coast through this weekend due to Hurricane Arthur.
