The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for the entire NYC area tonight.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall caused flooding of urban neighborhoods, highways, and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. The water depth was too great to allow some cars to cross some streets safely.

We're not out of the woods yet. Forecasters say the first storm of this year's Hurricane season is named Arthur and it may visit the area on Saturday.
