What would you do if you were driving to a concert and saw a hitch hiker stranded on the side of the road?

Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were traveling to a concert in on Saturday, on their way to a Dave Mathews concert. They spotted someone who was stranded and turned out to be Matthews, who was on a bicycle ride when his bike broke down.

Needless to say, the 7-minute ride to the show was a bit surreal for these fans, who had Dave Matthews in the back seat.

ZIMMERMAN NOT GUILTY

29 year old George Zimmerman, the Florida neighborhood watchman who shot Trayvon Martin an unarmed black 17-year-old male last year is not guilty.

Defense attorneys representing Zimmerman argued he acted in self-defense and with justifiable use of deadly force in the death of Trayvon Martin.

The female judge told the all women jury to consider its verdict on charges of either second-degree murder or manslaughter. The case sparked a fierce debate about racial profiling in the US.

As final arguments finish in Trayvon Martin's slay trial, the Florida jury set to begin deciding Zimmerman's fate.

George Zimmerman's defense attorneys tried to convince a jury the neighborhood watch volunteer shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in self-defense.

But Zimmerman's case apparently raises some disturbing issues. The right to self defense- does it only apply to Zimmerman? Did Trayvon Martin have the right to defend himself against a stranger chasing him?

The Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance has tentatively scheduled a meeting at Community Board 9’s district office at 1967 Turnbull Avenue at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24th, to rally locals to join a community advisory board.

A representative from MWA pitched the idea to folks at CB9’s general board meeting June 20th, drawing plenty of interest, and applause, from a packed house.

US Poll: Public Esteem for Military High

The US Military ranked highest with more than three-quarters of Americans (78%) saying they think the Armed Forces contribute “a lot” to society. However, members of the Clergy wound up in the middle and Journalists near the bottom with just 28% saying the Press contribute “a lot.” This figure is down 10% from 2009, when 38% of Americans viewed Journalists positively.
