I fell in lust and quickly in love on Broadway in NYC and I still don’t want to stand up. Who doesn’t enjoy a great storyline?
I was working in the NYC AP Bureau when a friend and neighbor stopped by to hitch a ride home, but I explained that I was working and would not be returning home for a while.
He insisted I take an early dinner break and walk to a well-known and nearby Chinese restaurant. What a surprise for me to see and hear about the woman who would eventually become my one and only sweetheart, my girlfriend, and my wife.
She was playing the world's oldest guitar called a Gu Zheng. She played it masterfully. She plays the cello also. https://youtu.be/oWZWRFs9uQw?si=-iKRcyHP9VRC6X9r
This is a classic Chinese plucked zither. The modern guzheng commonly has 21 strings, is 64 inches long, and is tuned in a major pentatonic scale. It has a large, resonant soundboard made from Paulownia wood. Other components are often made from other woods for structural or decorative reasons. Guzheng players wear a fingerpick made from tortoiseshell, or ivory on one or both hands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6fz1gT26_A
Her natural beauty was evident, and she does not drink or smoke and rarely will wear makeup. Needless to say, I returned to see and hear her again until I asked her to go out with me, started dating and when I finally met Yiliang, who is now our son I knew we were getting serious.
I found her a job with health insurance and a steady income as a banker because she is not only intelligent, good with figures and has a great figure. Last but not least of all, she enjoys helping others. They eventually awarded her with banker of the year award.
She is now helping local seniors with their housing needs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAIc7_hre3k
