American entrepreneur Elon Musk is proposing a near-supersonic "Hyperloop" transport concept.
The SpaceX, Tesla and PayPal founder says he envisions using magnets and fans to shoot capsules floating on a cushion of air through a long tube. Claustrophobia anyone ?
If that Hyperloop concept is ever developed, a trip on it between Los Angeles and San Francisco, California could take 30 minutes.
The Hyperloop proposal utilizes a solar-powered system that he claims would be a faster, safer, less costly, and more efficient mode of transport between SF and LA than the high-speed train currently under development.
This idea sounds like something we may have seen on Television years ago with The Jetsons.
