It has been about a dozen years since Shock and Awe and that so called military doctrine based on the use of overwhelming power, dominant battlefield awareness, dominant control has just about backfired. What a mess was made by political maniacs plotting near the Potomac. Which way does US go now?

Do you recall when President George W. Bush proclaim “mission accomplished?” What mission was he referring to? Saddam Hussein was correct when he predicted America’s invasion of Iraq would be the mother of all battles. Eleven years later, this battle appears to grow as it continues to cost US. What do Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney have to say about this mess today?

Iraq’s army are running for the hills as the ISIS fighters advance of the fighters of Islamic State of Iraq and Shams Syria. These scared soldiers were equipped and trained by the US at a cost of $14 billion. And more importantly, what was the purpose of all those lost lives and injured individuals?

This southwestern Asian region is where the world’s earliest civilization developed. The name comes from a Greek word meaning “between rivers,” referring to the land between the Tigris and Euphrates.
However, this can include the area which is now southeastern Turkey, eastern Syria, and most of Iraq.

The region is the centre of a culture whose influence has grown throughout the Middle East and the Indus valley, Egypt, and throughout the Mediterranean.
