Native American Astrology is an ancient system, as practiced and taught by the North American Indians, was in existence well before the first settlers arrived in the new world. It is a system apart from Western astrology and Chinese astrology and is based on the natural world and how we fit into the cosmic scheme of things.

These storytellers have passed on their culture from generation to generation as their beliefs were passed on by the elders to the children of the tribe. Through story and song both the history and theology of the tribe was transferred from one lifetime to another. Inspired by these teachings the new generation would make these beliefs the cornerstone of their faith as they continued the journey of life.

These and other attractions were evident in south picnic area of Pelham Bay Park because it was the place to be to celebrate Native American culture this weekend.

Folks enjoyed music, storytelling, children's arts & crafts, vendors, food and dance. Admission was free.
