This country made huge investments and even larger sacrifices, with tousands of lives lost and the real cost for a US war in Iraq tops $1.7 trillion. All for what?

Militants continue to take back Iraq, controlling of Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit, and getting closer to the Iraqi capital, as soldiers and security forces abandon their posts after clashes with the Al-Qaida insurgents. Fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant took control today.

Yesterday, the militants muscled into Mosul and the Iraqi army once again failed against these forces and decided to flee this key northern city.

Years ago, the US administration decided to take this city, but that was then and this is now. did the US military forces die for? How many taxpayer dollars were wasted in taking this area?

The Al Qaeda splinter group takeover of this area is a sign that US soldiers died in vain and dollars were wasted.
