Victorious Kenyans at NYC Marathon

Submitted by ub on

Kenyans Mutai and Jeptoo both won titles at today's NYC Marathon.

Geoffrey Mutai successfully defended his title Sunday, while another Kenyan, Priscah Jeptoo won the women's race.

Amateur and professional runners says they felt safe on the course. Security was tight from the moment they arrived at the start. They were corralled into long bag-check lines, with NYPD and volunteers repeatedly reminded them to keep cellphones out.

The NYC Marathon's return to the five boroughs looked no different from years past, but much has changed. The streets were still crammed with runners and the sidewalks with fans, along with tight security.

City Island Images wishes to extend a most sincere congratulations to everyone who participated in another safe and sound #NYCMarathon... KUDOS!
