As the Democratic Convention approaches, the theme may have been altered from CHANGE "Yes We Can" to FORWARD "We Thought We Could Have", or "Let's Try Once Again"...etc.
Four years later, that energy, excitement, buzz and optimism that we saw during the last democratic convention has apparently faded and it will be interesting to see what organizers to this week's Democratic Party Convention will come up with to charge up the delegates.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has made sure she is as far away as she possibly can when that convention opens in Charlotte. Clinton has left Washington for an island hopping trip across the South Pacific and Southeast Asia, with visits to the Cook Islands, Timor-Leste and Brunei, on the island of Borneo. She plans to visit Indonesia, China and Russia, so Clinton will be out of the country until the end of the convention.
Why has President Obama fallen short of what he promised voters four years ago? Stay tuned to this week's convention as we all attempt to find out the answer, or at the very least their reasons, or excuses why real change never truly materialized.
