This Christmas Santa’s reindeer and elves insist on working remotely this year, but The Big S Guy disagrees and they're divided.
Then, the elves also wanted to work remotely for Santa. Before, they served as field staff doing assessments for managed plans. They were only occasionally required to go into the office for random things, but most days, they went straight to their homes at the appointed time. After the assessments, they would go home and finish up any documentation that needed to be done.
The reindeer also worked making their schedule and hours. They only needed to go to the office to collect stock supplies or if certain in-service training was required. Otherwise, they would schedule visits and go straight to homes; whenever they were done for the day, the reindeer would go home and finish documenting.
Of course, those jobs require training and licensing from The North Pole and, experience. It’s also not all it’s cracked up to be. When working at home they need to set boundaries with anyone in the home so they know that, whatever it may look like, you’re working and on the clock for their employer. Working remotely takes a certain level of self-discipline to meet goals. Sure, they will communicate with Santa but they need to take more responsibility for structuring the day and avoiding distractions they might not have in an office. Merry Christmas to all…
