This is dedicated to someone very special. When I wake up each day, I like to think about how blessed and fortunate I am. Which is the real reasono behind feeling lucky to be alive? Each of us can probably come up with our own list of reasons for why we feel the way we do.
Whenever I’m having a frustrating moment or day, I start ticking off circumstances in my head, “I’m not an orphan who has lost his whole family to #COVID or another life-threatening illness. I have not had friends killed by domestic terrorists. I’m no longer a political refugee and had to flee my home leaving everything I have and everyone I know. I’m not in a homeless camp wondering how I’ll feed my family or myself. I’m not being held as a prisoner in a foreign land. It isn’t difficult for me to come up with a very long list of why I feel blessed, lucky, and fortunate. So can you or anyone too.
Sometimes when our attitude is in a funk and we’re feeling bad about ourselves or life itself it’s because we’re focusing on what we can’t do or we’re thinking about what we had and lost rather than what we still possess and can still get done.
Following the rotating storm systems, and strong winds, which produced heavy rain and massive flooding that caused so much death and destruction, it is now time to count our blessings and press play today.
