There are lessons, and stories not being told to help those who served in our military. We honor and salute every American who has worn the uniform of the #USA military and chose to defend our nation.
Veteran Housing Corporation is one organization which pays tribute to veterans as a tax-exempt, charitable, non-profit organization. Its primary mission is to provide long-term housing to US Military VETERANS. On this Veterans Day, it appears to be the best time to profile the holiday spirit of sharing that it provides
Reydel Sonny Santos is the driving force in the organization. His last name means saint and it fits him like the warm glove of a helping hand during this sharing time of the year. His first name, Reydell is a variation of the word king. He tells City Images that when he least expects it, he meets American veterans in need of affordable housing. Rey has a kindred heart that offers pro-bono business, legal, and financial assistance as a pro bono non-profit executive.
As you can imagine, they are very busy with the organization established in 2009. The group has their hands full at a three-property project near The Ocala National Forest, where they provide housing for veterans. Rey and his colleagues are remodeling several units and refinancing the property in order to develop the project and manufacture new apartment-style homes.
The organization owns and manages an affordable housing project in FLORIDA. VHC bought a multi-unit property, including six cottages that they are renovating and making available to VETERANS in need.
Veterans with HUD/VASH vouchers are always accepted. VETERANS currently in transitional housing accepted but MUST be referred by the transitional housing provider's case manager. Units are unfurnished and most rents are between $600 to $750 per month. VETERANS MUST apply through the Turbo Tenant website and must provide a digital color copy of their official government identifications.
