A majority of the US Senate has rejected witnesses as well as documents and are now setting final Trump impeachment vote for Wednesday after rejecting testimony and ensuring POTUS acquittal.
Several senators acknowledged Trump’s guilt, but voted to move forward without hearing from any witnesses and announced their plan to vote to acquit him.
This is a dereliction of duty and their constitutional responsibilities.
After all, was said, 51 United States Senators have voted for a dangerous and embarrassing partisan precedent which limits our system of checks and balances going forward.
These Senators took an oath to support and defend the US Constitution and failed. Did #SCOTUS Chief Justice John Roberts have an obligation to demand that witnesses be called and declare a mistrial if the senators refused?
