Peace on Earth

Thank you, America because this is the first Christmas in decades that The United States is not involved in any wars overseas.

Now, all we have to do is stop arguing and fighting one another over discrimination, lies, unproven claims and false conspiracy theories.

Many humans and animals all over the world are celebrating their second COVID Christmas, while infections in many countries have overwhelmed hospitals, canceled flights, and curbed religious observances, our global resolve should be to work together for a better earth. Jesus Christ wants it this way.

According to published reports, Christmas" is a shortened form of "Christ's mass". The word is recorded as Crīstesmæsse in 1038 and Cristes-messe in 1131. Crīst (genitive Crīstes) is from Greek Khrīstos (Χριστός), a translation of Hebrew Māšîaḥ (מָשִׁיחַ), "Messiah", meaning "anointed"; and mæsse is from Latin missa, the celebration of the Eucharist.

The nativity sequences included in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke prompted early Christian writers to suggest various dates for the anniversary. Although no date is indicated in the gospels, early Christians connected Jesus to the Sun through the use of such phrases as "Sun of righteousness."The Romans marked the winter solstice on December 25. The first recorded Christmas celebration was in Rome on December 25, AD 336. In the 3rd century, the date of nativity was the subject of great interest.

Today, as I reflect on my life, I give thanks for my family, and our continued health with the satisfaction of a life lived twice.
